Fall is in the air and so many plans to the end of the year.. trunk shows to do in Toronto, NYC and abroad, wedding to plan… and its going to be gorgeous.. all black and white with many creative people helping to make it the most eye happening look in a long time.. Our daughters wedding.. first child.. most emotional and exciting all in one..

Trying to focus more on the business side of things I have traveled and brought back what I feel are the coolest pieces of jewelry for both men and woman that there are.. It never ceases to amaze me.. the talent and the know how to do it designers.. the ambition and the drive they possess to get their work out there and let it be seen by the world… I LOVE IT.. I LOVE THE HUNT, THE FIND, THE CAPTURING of an eclectic group of people who bring their accent and signature to peoples wardrobes.. they blow my mind..

PERSERVERANCE is so integral to being in this business.. knocking on doors, waiting to be discovered.. it take courage and perserverance… I applaud those who can do it.. I personally just like the find!

I am a trendscout looking for the newest hippest designs.. not the ordinary that we all know but the underground people.. the sidewalk people , the hard working creatives that have not been discovered yet!

Fall will bring a collage of these people.. I will share the jewelry at all the TNT SHOPS in TORONTO and MONTREAL and still maintain a private collection of my own by appointment.

I will offer trunk shows in the world and all you need do is contact me to arrange..

Things are changing.. the economy is turning.. people are in a hurry and no one has the time..

I want to make accessorizing a little easier for you so my site will have PAYPAL as of next week and more and more collections will be added to the site.. you can shop online all night long!

Dear All:

Aspen in the summer..Try to imagine it.. look at my photos… breathe in deeply and then out again.. you’re captured.. NO I ‘M CAPTURED!!

I arrived via Denver and a relatively smooth ride from Denver to Aspen.. Clean small great airport!

I was delivered by courtesy of the RITZ CARLTON van to my “captors!” Two very good friends who decided to make this an intervention.. What?? Just because I have to lose 30 pounds??? !! YES that is exactly the reason and they of course wanted to lose a few themselves!

SO I arrive in the most beautiful timeshare the RITZ CARLTON… each of us with our own bedrooms.. New furnishings and gorgeous appliances!! I mention this because I went to look at the beautiful refrigerator and there is NOTHING other than berries, NO FAT GREEK NO TASTE YOGURT and some diet fudgsicles!

I was horrified as a week prior to this I had given up all alcohol and caffeine... (Health reasons of course!) And low and behold no food... we were off to a scarry start!

At promptly 8:00 am, roll call with my friend Les telling Diane and I it was time to get up and walk to town approximately 4 miles away... where there we would have our first coffee.. Caffeine the one and only time I could have it in the day! It was well worth the walk at that point as it was the only thing to really look forward to food wise!!

….and then we walked all day on three streets in our sweaty clothes feeling fabulously healthy and THIN! Salads only for lunch in town and more walking...!!!

I of course, hyped by the fantastic shops there, continued right until about dinner as my friends took the shuttle back to the apartment for a nap!

I made friends with everyone and loved it! This is where the “info” comes in as I will detail to you best I can about the best shops and some of the people in them... oh and by the way.. Saw Antonio Banderes on top of the mountain where we took the gondola up for lunch.. HOT HOT HOT… so good looking … and only saw the back of Melanie but some people say that was a good thing???!!!!

INFO: BEST COSMETIC SHOP: COSBAR where anything important and new can be found! Including some NEW AND ONLY OLIVE CREAM AVAILABLE ONLY HERE AND ONE OTHER AMERICAN CITY… DOES WONDERS!!

And the best one on one time I have ever had with staff before!

SHOPPING: MAX … the coolest guy with the best taste that I met out there.. Also in Denver and Boulder.. every line I Love..

Bottega, Stella, Missoni, Dries and INHABIT sweaters etc… fabulous jewelry selection of the AVANTE GARDE!! Such as his friend

DISTRACTIONS:

Great selection of “THE ROW” and lots of add on pieces and attached to J. MENDEL, just in case you need a gown on the run or a fur!

NUAGE: could not have bought more CHROME HEARTS than there! Little black dress, Lainy sweaters and some ‘smokin

Little dressy dresses.. Oh to have lost the 30 pounds already!!

AND FOR A LITTLE CULTURE: check out the fames at BELLY UP where we listened to OTTMAR LIEBERT a fabulous Brazilian guitarist… dreamy and only barefoot as he played..

Of course sitting in the midst of the drinking crowd and having to do sober solo, I actually made it through the whole concert without falling asleep (although he was so captivating I probably wouldn’t have slept anyhow) as would usually be after a hard days walking around shopping!! And to boot, got to find the one place with the CD sold out except for one after the show!

I have never felt so good since St. Barths.. this is a vacation outside the ordinary where there is definitely something for everyone.. BRING SNEAKERS!!!!

Its hard to imagine not being in the South of France for the summer holidays but after one week in Aspen, Europe can wait for me!

I just came back from a girls week.. kind of like an intervention.. landed and the moment I did.. I was told NO EATING AND ONLY EXERCISE! It was to be a week filled with long hikes and minimal eating .. OK and a lot of SHOPPING!

Here I was nestled in the most beautiful mountains with anything I needed at my finger tips!.. Modern Ballet ( never do ballet at home) Brazilian Guitar player

What beautiful day..Not part of the day but THE WHOLE FRICKIN DAY was beautiful..!! What a change and so welcomed!

Hope you all took advantage of it!

That being said, I went for a spray tan today.. My husband just said to me “I cant believe the things you find to do!” well, this was well planned and well taken!

The sun shone, I didn’t lie in the sun and I got a tan just the same in 10 minutes and back to work! I mean hey! Not every one can plan so well and get so many things done at the same time including looking like you’ve been away for a week!

Forest Hill Spa.. clean and efficient.. Try it!

Prior to arriving at the “spa” I visited an old friend who is a nutrition specialist..after about 45 minutes we decided my thoughts were correct! I am ADDDDDDDDDD!

Finally a reason for all my flaws!

I am going to attend a sleep clinic to make sure I don’t have problems at that end too… doesn’t sound like a dream to me.. but health is priority right now and I will do anything to make sure I can live another 100 years!

Next Morning: Okay, just got up ready for another day.. washed my face.. good bye spray tan.. all over my towel! Hopefully the sun will shine and I will have real tan with real outdoor sun! FAKE BAKE, SPRAY TAN. I want the REAL THING!

Everyday is a gift....that’s why they call it the present!

What a week this has been ..filled with sadness and happiness both.

I thank you all for coming to my “peace and love” party yesterday. It was great to see familiar faces and new ones!

With fall on the way new looks are appearing everywhere.. from metallics to skins from bold and bright colours back to dark and sexy.,. black still remains strong along side the greys and browns.

I am now focusing on my upcoming daughters wedding. She doesn’t care about anything other than the bridesmaids being happy in their “skins”while waltzing down the isle. She says nothing is worse than being forced to wear whats dictated.. plck the colour and let them run their own show, afterall, wouldn’t

It be great to wear that dress again?? So be it! I will buy the fabric and they will decide their own personal style! I LOVE THAT!

PERSONAL STYLE:

Should be priority. Do what suits you.. Wear what you want to wear.. my personal style changes every day.. one day I am carrie bradshaw, confident and bold and the next day a simpleton.. leggings tunic and all in your basic black. To be honest the latter is what I am more comfortable in but the bold and confident is what I wish I could do more often, but then again I live in Toronto and I would stand out like a sore thumb.

You’d have to be in the magazine business in New York to dress like that, you would just fade into the millions dressed the same way…ah, but that is what I love about New York.. all the care about the way you look , all the discomfort about the shoes you wear and all the excitement about the new fashions every season…. You just have to get paid to feel that way.. it has to be your work or else you feel so shallow.

As a fifty something wife and mother I look back to see how I got to this business.. it was just that. I wanted to travel and shop and make a business out of it.

I had always traveled and come back so inspired by meeting new people, seeing designs of cool shops..

Hi All!

So here we are slowly easing and I mean easing into summer.. What is with the weather???????!!!!

And so the phone calls and emails begin with .. I am going to the South of France, I am going to L.A, I am going I am going I am going.. and where to eat, sleep and shop..

I have decided to begin the lists of my favorite places so I can simply say.. “GO TO MY BLOG!”

If I had been much smarter in the past I would have filed the lists so I wouldn’t have to think them all up again and everytime someone “WANTS TO KNOW!”

Ever since I was about 14 years old, when school let out I expected to be packed up for camp or traveling someone but NEVER staying at home in the city!

Day camps weren’t for me.. I needed to see the trees and and the lakes (I’m Pisces of course!)

As I got older I watched my friends be sent off to Europe, while I had to stay home and work. It just wasn’t in the cards at the time; after all, we were four kids and a lot to support for a self starting dad!

I guess that’s where my traveling genes came from.. not being able to travel so much when I was younger .

I’ m proud to say that I spent my 40^th birthday in Paris France, a place no one could ever believe I had not been to.. and so it all begins.. the excitement of the wonderland I had only read about.. And here I will begin to list the places I learned to love most, to eat, shop and sleep in this beautiful city!

BTW.. it was 14 years ago when it began!!

Eating in Paris is always thought to be the best.. but for me, I was always trying to find the restaurant with the least amount of mayonnaise in the tuna! NOT POSSIBLE!

All the cafes are fun to sit in.. especially in October when I am there for the shows.. but I could never find anything to eat to keep from feeling I wasn’t straying from my diet!

Paris is filled with saucy sauces and thin woman.. (they must all be miserable!) gorgeous and in such beautiful shape. I watch them drink their wine with every meal and eat whatever they want and I have finally figured out what they DON’T do that we DO DO. THEY DON’T SNACK! They don’t eat inbetween meals and they walk everywhere they go.. that being said.. I live on caprese salads wherever I can for lunch. Think CAFÉ FLORE! Or COLLETTE for a quick people watch and lunch on the go…! (I am always rushing to shop!!)

Dinner is like the way I do things.. once I’ve found the right place ,I seem to go back over and over again.. THINK CAFÉ RUC.. one of my favorites and here I allow myself steak w/frites.. AFTERALL , I’m already here aren’t I?
HOTEL COSTES is home to the fashionistas and has the outdoor courtyard with never a wind disturbing you.. always difficult to get into but worth the wait..

Hotel Costes owns many restaurants in Paris all equally hip and food great! Check out their café on Avenue Montagne and upstairs at the famous Pompediou where

GEORGE is located with the most spectacular view of Paris.. really breathtaking.. !

I may not seem too widespread with these suggestions but I have been everywhere and this is how I like to eat.. you may choose more authentic eateries, these are only my “get ready” suggestions!

The Buddha Bar has been around for years and as a side step this is a great bar to get yourself initiated into the Paris bar scene.. great music, great looking people.. and in the HUB of all the best shopping!

LAST SALE OF THE SEASON..

I love to welome friends and friends of friends to my home for these little trunk shows! Not exactly trunk size shows but it’s a good name for them anyhow!

Its like a surprise party. Never know who will show up and always happy to see new faces.

I have lots of security so hopefully don’t have to worry about the “wrong people” coming through AND TODAY I DO WORRY.

I am sure most of you are aware of the vicious murders of two wonderful boys this past week; Dylan Ellis and Oliver Martin.

Its hard to imagine a senseless crime like this happening, let alone to our friends and family.

I for one felt like it was my own. I think all mothers felt like it was there own child. Its hard to move forward but when I attended the funeral yesterday, and saw my friend Karen and her family in the front row crying and laughing at the heartfelt stories of friends, I knew they would survive and with the assurance they did a wonderful job as parents to bring in so many people who loved their child so much. That is the only upside of the situation. Otherwise it is impossible to accept any part of this heinous crime.

We all hope the murderer be found, and hope even more Dylan and Oliver are resting together peacefully.

I’ve been back in Toronto for 5 days and I am still trying to figure out what I saw in LA that was of any real consequence.

Probably not fair as sales were going on everywhere and not much new to be found!

I ran into Brooke Shields again Barneys, she looks long and lanky as ever and I must say a warm friendly girl..! It’s amazing, the fact that she has been famous for so many years and she never really took the “bad girl” route.. Good for her! It can be done!

I did come back with baubles … and mostly around my neck! Have you ever tried to go through customs with that much dangling? Its way too difficult to take it all off so there I go willingly to be poked and probed at security.. I actually think though that its worse for them than me they know how we feel about them! Moving on..

My future son in law Jamie has begun a business that has people calling me and saying thank you! I will share it with you.. go to:

BOY did I take a leave of absence..hard not too..lapping up the sunshine in LA!!
Funny how the sun makes you want to move ! Have checked out all my fav spots and then some! The time has gone so quickly!
Friends celebrations.. Screening of new fabulous film DEFIANCE with Daniel Craig and pyjama party at one best friends place, WENDY CREED famous event planner, think SUPERBOWL, movie premieres!!
Last night temp in bedroom 60 degrees!! No hot flashes last night that's for sure! People who think like I do! No problem convincing them I need it COLD or no sleepover!
Today lunch at Barneys with a fantastic stylist and major sale at Chanel at SAKS!! Too bad mostly everything size 4!!
Ok..off to meet a jewelry designer so I can bring it all to you in T.O!! Later!

Leaving today. Always so stressful.. suitcase not done up “just in case” need extra one for goodies that may come back with me!

Its not enough that I have those f.. hot flashes.. today it is miserably hot and getting worse and the packing thing makes it that much harder!

Oh to be thin and just throw in the tshirts and jeans…

Meanwhile..life is pretty good.. Cant wait to land in LA LA land and smell the ocean.. my favorite thing.. a pisces at that! We LOVE WATER!

Packing, what a pain. I have yet to learn the technique and because I am usually traveling by myself it is REALLY MY PROBLEM!
So what to take??!! Am I feeling fat, thin, hot cold?WHAT IF I AM FEELING ALL OF THOSE THINGS??? Then I must bring it all! And this will therefore now take all of my energy to pack! YUK!
Now if i were directing you in what to take ANYWHERE .. i would probably say JUST TAKE:
blue jeans, white t shirts, black t shirts 3 cashmere sweaters, 6 different scarves (one for everyday to look different and as if you changed), running shoes, sandals AND DONT FORGET YOUR UNDERWEAR! Its literally a BUMMER when you do and I have! LATER TONIGHT.. forget packing for a while..I have 3 more days left to do that!
Just came home from a beautiful charity event where TNT did the fashion show and I did the jewelry. I was so proud of the fact that i contributed.. ONE THING IS FOR SURE! You have to give back.. you have to contribute.. there is nothing as rewarding as that!

Summer is almost here...

June, finally the summer is almost here. The sun shining makes everything look that much better!
I feel like the energy I have been lacking is coming back again!
I’m off to L.A. this week to see friends and figure out the trends for fall… its one of the best places to see whats going on.. I love the creativity L.A designers have.. never afraid to take a chance..its so inspiring.!
I”ve been traveling a lot the past six months…India , Israel, Vienna, St. Barths, Miami, New York, Montreal ..this business makes traveling make sense.. you have to travel to see the world through different eyes.. that’s what makes for the variety in the collections I buy.. everything is so unique, everything bought with a story to tell.. I love the guy on the street.. I love the streets for finding the best kept secrets.. I bring them home and make them happen..thanks to TNT where I am the exclusive provider of jewelry to all of their shops! An instore shop, and now just opened in Montreal too!
So this blog will be about everyday things but mostly about the travel and the people I meet, where it leads me and what you get because of it! Hope you’ll check in and tell me what you think or add to what I know..
BY THE WAY my new favorite restaurant has opened in L.A and I ‘m going to go there as soon as I get to L.A…... BLT ! check it out online ! Its in New York and its YORKSHIRT PUDDING is the best in this world!
